Learn More About What APICS Can Do For Our Chapter

APICS Middle Tennessee is proud to welcome Doug Bell as our guest speaker for the November PDM. Doug is the Southeast District Business Development Manager (DBDM) for APICS and will discuss how the DBDM program can help strengthen and grow our chapter. Doug will explain the new development strategies that enable local chapters to grow their business and improve the chapter’s ability to offer training, education, and member services to the local market. He will also discuss what other chapters are doing in their efforts to outreach.

Over the course of his career, Doug has provided leadership and guidance in developing people, leading cross functional teams, and creating distribution channel “friendly” processes and partnership programs, while working directly with distribution and business partner programs for IBM, Intel, Avnet, Arrow Electronics, Ingram Micro, Microsoft and Motorola Computer Group. He has been an active contributor in partner marketing and operations, and organizations representing channel partners and distributors.

October PDM w/Matt Southards

How to Extend Digital Marketing Beyond the Confines of Your Website

APICS Middle Tennessee is proud to welcome Matt Southards as our guest speaker for the October PDM. Join us for a new perspective on how to extend digital marketing beyond the confines of your website. Matt will discuss the impact of User Experience on “conversion rates”, the most widely-used metric for measuring the effectiveness of a website, and explain the importance of User-Generated Content.

Matt Southards is the Director of Digital Engagement at A. O. Smith where he leads a team of internal and external resources to create and optimize digital marketing programs.  Prior to A. O. Smith, Matt served as Director of Digital Media for Parthenon Publishing, Marketing Manager for Edgenet, and Digital Asset Manager for Hickory Hardware.  Matt has an MBA from the University of Illinois, and a BS from Thomas Edison State College.  Matt resides in Nashville with his wife and two sons.

For our September Professional Development Meeting (PDM) we are pleased to have as our speaker Chris Kushmaul, Director of Supply Chain Solutions for IDV Solutions.

Stop detecting and responding and start anticipating and preventing threats to your supply with insights Chris has gained during his 14 years of managing global supply chains. How do you deal with big data? How can global events impact your company’s bottom line? How do you shift from reacting to problems to anticipating risks and dealing with them early? You will come away with actionable suggestions to improve your risk preparedness.
